Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Event for Holiday Season

In a bizarre partnership that challenges conventional predictions, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the official statement, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden group.

The mission concentrates on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
